Description

Named for Joe Donelan's eldest daughter, Cuvée Keltie is all about old world style using new world fruit. Majoritively whole cluster fermented and always in old, neutral barrels, Cuvee Keltie is a blend of the best vineyard parcels and the best barrels of those vineyards. A dense, powerful wine, the mouthfeel is a result of both patience and selection. Patience comes from nearly two years in barrel which allows for both concentration of flavours but also mellowing of tannin. An excellent charcuterie wine - a slice of prosciutto di Parma plus a sip of Cuvée Keltie is guaranteed to bring a smile to our faces!

The 2013 Cuvée Keltie is built around three single-vineyard wines: Walker Vine Hill, Obsidian, and Richards. Together they produce a wine that is hedonistic, but also agile and structured. The wine opens on the nose with black cherry, mole sauce, and dried rose petals. A velvety texture on the palate is framed with a balance of acid and tannin. Fermented with nearly 100% whole cluster and aged for 20 months in neutral barrels and 9 months in bottle prior to release, 2013 Cuvee Keltie showcases a stunning wine that is not only well built, but incredibly intoxicating.
